Top 3 Thursday..

What are your Top 3 favorite things about being a parent?
Or, if you're not a parent yet, the Top 3 things you're most looking forward to about parenthood?

This lovely topic comes from Confessions From a Working Mom and once I read her answers, I couldn't help but contribute my 3 cents..err.. top 3.

#3 : I love the kids' kisses. No matter how snotty, slippery, or how crusty their faces can be, I will still take a kiss from them anytime. And the cherry on top of that, is an "I love you, Mommy". That's the best.

#2 : Maybe this is a bit more selfish, but I love having a purpose. Not that being a wife, friend, sister, daughter, aunt, and so on isn't enough to fill my time..but I love having two little ones need me. And I love being responsible. I thought, originally before James was born 4 years ago, that the intense responsibility would freak me out, but it never does. I love having a title..a title that far surpasses the "jobs" that I've had before having children.

#1 : I love taking them places and exploring. They are at a stage now where they know how much fun the zoo is, or the waterpark, or how awesome it is to just take a walk and explore the neighborhood. Their sweet faces get so excited with the little things and even just the suggestion of taking our camera along makes them so happy and excited. I love that. And in turn, they keep me on my toes.

I love the picture on your blog header... it reminds me of visiting my best friend in Denver years ago...

I agree with you on the kisses! Right now, my 18 month old loves the "open mouth" variety, but you know what? I'll take 'em!

Having a purpose is NOT selfish!! It IS what we are suppose to do- suppose to be- as mothers, as human beings, as members of our society ... I love that reason!! Hope ou visit my place sometime :-)

Kid kisses...yes! I sometimes come away from kisses from my 8 month old dripping with slobber. But you know what? Don't mind at all!

Thanks for playing our meme!
