So! These are our flooring choices for the condo! The top is the berber carpet we chose for the two bedrooms. The bottom is the laminate flooring for the remainder of the floor. The laminate is even textured so it even looks AND feels like hardwood. Pretty nifty.

Those are exactly what I would have chosen! Berber feels nice on the feets methinks and who can resist such nice laminate?! Nice choices!
Hopefully the Berber will stay clean. We bought our home and made the previous owners pay for cleaning and because Berber needs to be drycleaned because it is thick, it was $400!
